KAYAKING SILVER SPRINGS FLORIDA

Kayaking Silver Springs

Kayaking Silver Springs is one of the most beautiful kayak tours in Florida.  Silver Springs is home to abundant Florida wildlife and rhesus macaque monkeys, living wild along the shoreline of the silver river. Kayaking along huge five hundred year old bald cypress is breathtaking, and the crystal clear water is a glistening blue in the sunlight. Our kayak tour is structured to explore the amazing history of Silver Springs as well as informing our guests of the wildlife that call this beautiful area home.

Sit back and relax as we meander our kayaks down the Kings trail,  past the 1930’s Jungle Cruise prop of Fort King. The original fort king was built in 1827 and played a major role in the third seminole war. The fort was also the true beginning of the town of Ocala. At least 20 movies were filmed in Silver Springs, six of which were tarzan movies. Television shows such as Sea Hunt and I Spy were filmed here as well. Silver Springs is so very rich in history dating back six thousand years when indigenous people occupied the area.

The wildlife of Silver Springs is truly astonishing. The fabulous water birds diving and feeding along the river is just so gracful to watch. Alligators basking in the sun along the shore line and turles hanging out on logs at every turn. Manatees are wonderful to watch as well as the wild monkeys, that were introduced to Silver Springs to increase tourism by Col Tooey and his jungle cruise back in the mid 1030’s. Just simply excitement for nature lovers and photographers alike.

The springs themselves are magnificent!  The main Mammoth spring, pumps out up to 550 million gallons of crystal clear water a day.

Our Silver Springs Kayak Tours touch base on all the magnifest wildlife and history of this wild place!

So what are you waiting for? Spend a day with us on a kayak or SUP tour in this beautiful national natural landmark and enjoy all it has to offer.
