Join us for an exquisite St Augustine kayaking tour back in time. Kayak old Florida, at Deep Creek Conservation area. Deep Creek Conservation Area totals 5,374 acres on the eastern and western side of State Road 207 near Hastings. The area’s north tract has a 2.7-mile trail open to hikers, bikers and equestrians. Wildlife viewing may include glimpses of deer, turkey and a variety of waterfowl. Wading and marsh birds — including double-creasted cormorant, egrets and great blue herons — typically are prevalent at the conservation area’s 203-acre Edge field parcel along Dog Branch, a tributary of the St. Johns River.
A launch facility is available at the Deep Creek bridge on State Road 207, just west of State Road 206. Alligators can be seen along the creek as well as manatees and otters. Most of the tour is canopied and shaded. This is one of St Augustine’s closest real freshwater kayak tours, about a 20 minute drive from downtown.
We offer this guided tour for those that want to get off the beaten path. There are no facilities at the launch(woods) and no where to get out of your kayak once you’re on the creek. This is a group tour with an easy rating. All skill levels are welcome
This tour is closed at the present time due to fallen trees on the creek.
